Researchers at Western University are looking for participants who identify as bisexual+ (e.g., bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, plurisexual, queer, etc.) and are in intimate relationship(s) for a brief 10-minute intake survey and 60-minute online video Zoom interview.

We understand that although those who identify as bisexual+ have fulfilling and loving relationships, they still face pervasive stigmatization and discrimination in close and intimate relational contexts. We hope that through research, a broader understanding of bisexual+ individuals may shape relational processes and outcomes, with the hope of dispelling some of the stigma these individuals may face.

To be eligible to participate, you must meet the following criteria:  

• You are 24 years of age

• You currently live in the US, UK, or Canada

• You identify as bisexual+ (i.e., have a pattern of emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attraction to more than one gender, including but not limited to bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, queer, plurisexual, etc.)

• You are in a relationship(s) (e.g., polyamorous, monogamous, consensually non-monogamous, etc.)

• You are fluent in English (the survey/interviewing language).

• Are willing to participate in a 60-minute video Zoom interview that will be recorded and transcribed to text.

 

What the study entails:  

After you complete an initial 10-minute intake survey, you will be prompted to book your 60-minute online video Zoom interview using a calendar link. The Zoom video interview will be conducted with a research team member to examine the role of bisexual+ identities in different relationship structures. Your Zoom interview will be recorded. You will be compensated with $20 CAD for participating in the Zoom video interview.

 

Compensation:  

You will be compensated with $20 CAD for participating in online recorded Zoom video interview. Your compensation will be processed within 7-14 days after your interview as an Amazon gift card. You will only be compensated if you participate in the Zoom video interview.
