Getting involved in a lab is an excellent way to gain research experience. We are always looking for conscientious individuals who are passionate about social psychology to join our research team.

Prospective Graduate Students
Our lab will be considering graduate student applications this fall for the 2022/2023 academic year. Due to the volume of applications received and in the interests of equity, Dr. Joel is unable to correspond with potential applicants until they are shortlisted. The decision of who to shortlist is based on a holistic assessment of the applicant, taking into account their research statement, reference letters, prior research experience, GPA, and GRE scores (if provided). The research statement is particularly important, as it provides an opportunity for the applicant to demonstrate:

Intrinsic motivation (are you confident that graduate school is how you want to spend your next 5-6 years?)

Prior research-related experience (how have you honed your academic interests and skills?)

Research interest fit (is our lab a place where you will be able to conduct the kind of research you want to do?)
