"Getting To Know You" Project
Are You Seeing Someone New?
Researchers at Western University are looking for participants for a large-scale study on new couples and their dating experiences. We hope to learn about people’s dating experiences in the early stages of a relationship.
To Be Eligible:

You must currently be seeing someone new. Specifically, we are looking for people who went on their first date less than 3 months ago. People who are seeing someone very casually are still eligible for the study.

Both you and your partner must participate, and must be fluent in English.

Both you and your partner must have access to separate electronic devices (i.e., laptop).

You must be in London Ontario for the lab portion of the study.
What The Study Entails:
The Study consists of several parts:

We’re going to ask you and your partner to each complete a questionnaire which asks you a variety of questions about you and your relationship.

After both you and your partner have completed your initial questionnaires, we will send you an email to find a mutually agreeable time for you and your partner to come into the lab at Western University.

In the lab, you and your partner will have the opportunity to participate in fun activities that encourage you to get to know each other on a deeper level.

Next, we will email you a short survey online every week for 12 weeks. This survey will ask you about your dating experience each week, and it should take about 2 minutes to complete.

Finally, we’re going to send you two more online surveys, in one and two years. These will be relatively brief, follow-up questionnaires, just checking in about how things have gone since you did the main study.
Compensation:

For completing the initial questionnaire and the lab session, you and your partner will be compensated with $25 each ($50 per couple).

We’ll compensate you for the weekly surveys with two dollars for each survey you’ve completed (e.g. $20 CAD when completing 10 time points). When completing all 12 time points you receive a bonus of $21 CAD per person ($42 CAD bonus per couple) and thus in total you can get up to $45 CAD per person ($90 CAD per couple) for completing all time points.

In total you can earn $70 per person (or $140 per couple). Additionally, we’ll enter you into a $125 CAD Amazon gift card draw for each of the two follow-up surveys
